Regional Advisory Council's (RAC's)
The CNYAHEC Board of Directors established six Regional Advisory Councils (RAC) in 2011 in order to create greater awareness of our programs and services at the local level and to increase the opportunity for input to our plans and activities. Each RAC meets semi-annually and includes representatives from school districts, BOCES, healthcare providers, academic institutions, elected officials, public health and economic development.
A Regional Advisory Council is established by CNYAHEC’s bylaws as a non-chartered, voluntary forum, without governance responsibility. Leadership, staff, financial support and direction for Regional Advisory Council activities are provided by CNYAHEC. Participation and meetings are by invitation, held not less than twice per year within the region and hosted by a regionally-based participant. The outcome of the meetings is distinctly advisory in nature and it is fully within the role of the CNYAHEC board alone to determine when such advice may constitute a mandate for action.
